Meeting Agendas
- Getting Acquainted: Icebreaker questionnaire and discussion on effective leadership skills.
- Skills for Employment: Exploration of soft and hard skills, focusing on employer expectations.
- Learning Styles: Discussion on how adults and children learn differently, along with community resources.
- Fostering Belonging: Defining belonging and brainstorming strategies to cultivate it.
- Non-Violent Communication: Overview of principles and practice of effective non-violent communication.
- Understanding Happiness: Personal reflections on happiness and the "happiness slum" in America.
- Filling Buckets: Discussing ways to uplift peers, families, and communities.

Volunteer Activities

Display Window Decoration: Student leaders decorated the SVAE office window with monthly theme-based class work.

Leadership T-Shirts: As a team voted and selected the quote "Empowering Minds, Inspiring Futures" for their T-shirts.

Community Service: Volunteered monthly at the Second Harvest Food Giveaway.

Graduation Assistance: Helped with the graduation ceremony by distributing programs and ushering attendees.

Additional Volunteer Activities:
- Ran our CTE event at SVAE
- Represented SVAE at our yearly open house as well as job fair at Santa Clara Adult school.
- Provided feedback to the WIOA team on what was working well and what needed improvement.
