Medical Assistant
This medical assistant course is a one-year program consisting of eight modules and a month of externship. Each module meets daily for five to six weeks. At the end of the course, students will demonstrate mastery in front and back medical office procedures.
Students may begin the program at the start of any module, as space is available.
Prerequisite: Within the first five months of class, students must have the following tests/shots: TB, MMR, Varicella titer, Hep B, Tdap, flu (during flu season). Students must complete a high school diploma or equivalency by course completion date.

Bio:Dr. Safari brings decades of healthcare, education, and program development experience into the classroom. In 2004, she developed the curriculum and launched SVAE’s Medical Assistanting course. More than 20 years later, she continues to share her knowledge and prepare students for careers in healthcare. From 1998 to 2004, Dr. Safari gained experience across a wide range of healthcare programs. She served as a Director of College for Surgical Technologist, with additional experience in Medical Assisting, Medical Coding and Billing, Medical Terminology, Massage Therapy, and Pharmacy Technology. Her industry experience also includes owning and operating an esthetics clinic, retirement center, nursing home, hospice care organization, rehabilitation center, and concierge medical practice.
